My name is Manuela Avery. My main journey in life is to live for the glory of God. I am an Army brat turned to Navy wife. My family originates from Germany, Hawaiʻi, and Korea. Because of the military life and my mom, I had the opportunity to travel from the beginning of my life. I love to travel, explore, and learn.
Why do this travel blog?
After completing my undergraduate degree, I moved to Hawaiʻi to get my masters and license to teach elementary education. During my time in Hawaiʻi, I had a few friends visit, and I wanted their time there to be one of their best vacations. I created a location-based Google Sheets document my favorite places, restaurants, details, etc., to share with my visitors to personalize their stay.
Over the years, I have created many more similar Sheets for all my travels. A friend encouraged me to start a blog and here we are! My goal is to have a consolidated location for these and future travels and recommendations. My desire is to make it quick and easy to read, since many of us live busy lives.

A bit about my interests
Fun: I love being outdoors, although I am not a fan of bugs, creepy crawlies, and being dirty. The sun makes me happy. I like hiking, going to the beach, and sightseeing. I find different cultures interesting and I enjoy going to museums, but I am not that interested in art.
Food: I hate to cook, but I love to eat. Angel hair pasta and pad thai are my favorite, but I like trying new and unusual foods. I can handle a little spice, and I have a sweet tooth.
Beer: I like the lighter beers. I definitely don’t like IPAs, stouts, etc. My favorites are hefeweizen and wheat beers, but I am willing to sample most beers. I’m no beer expert, but I love checking out different local breweries.
