My experience: Sunday, July 5, 2020
The parking was horrendous. It was small, narrow, and packed. I dropped every off to stand in line, and luckily, I found a parking spot shortly after. The line to order was also very long. Part of the line is under an awning, the rest is out in the open. There is a large menu in both areas.
Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant interaction with the cashier and what seemed like one of the managers. I was especially shocked about the manager. She was very rude, impatient, and judgmental.
After ordering, they hand you a red shell (indicating occupied/dirty) to place on the table of your choosing that has a green shell (meaning cleaned). When they call up your order, you return the green shell. There are various picnic tables under a large tent and out in the open. Some tables lining near the river.
I ordered the creamy clam chowder and mussels. Both were a little disappointing. The clam chowder was very salty. The mussels were sandy. My husband and sister-in-law ordered the lobster, which they enjoyed. My sister-in-law’s boyfriend ordered a lobster roll, which he also liked.
Overall, I have no intention on returning to Abbot’s. Ford’s Lobsters up the road was better and had better customer service.
